Wedding Night Of A Nun. Reviews

“These are very delicate poems by a young woman just starting out in the poetry
world who has a pronounced lyrical gift. Short, compressed, yet musical poems
such as “For Alicia, on the Loss of her Eye”, “Puglia”, “Contingencies”, “A
Passion Like Catherine’s”, and “Danae” remain in one’s mind. There is a different
kind of power in Lawner’s startling longer poem “Wedding Night of A Nun”.
–Lilliane Viollet

“Her themes are those of the young, particularly in their concern with love and
with the sense of being a stranger in one’s own body. Her rhythms are strong and
complex”
